The electronic wizard aka Esben Nørskov Andersen is back and fully in his element. Take 90’s house with a touch of eurodance, add stabbing vocal chops, playful synths and a groovy four on floor — sprinkle some Rangleklods eccentricity on top and you have the danceable “Song We Used To Play”.

Inspired by his youth in the suburbs — memories of both enduring and fleeting friendships are artfully encapsulated by the soundscape that surrounds them. With nostalgia at its core, Rangleklods has created a unique bridge between melancholic songwriting and his futuristic electronic craftsmanship.

"It's a song about a friendship that faded away. You move away, forget to stay in touch, and eventually the relationship is just a fond, hazy memory that you hold onto. there’s a song // we used to play //  we sang along // everyday // but just like us it slipped away //  forgot the words // but the melody went like …

Rangleklods is heralding a full-length album with "Song We Used To Play", which follows the critically acclaimed Straitjacket from 2015 and All About You from 2020. The songs are a reflection of life and the breaths between life-altering moments — sonically surrounded by a unique mix of timeless references. The music reflects the present, past, and future — incorporating both feelings of intimacy and euphoria, with productions that always fluctuate between organic and electronic elements.

Esben Nørskov Andersen explains:

“To me ‘Song We Used To Play’ feels like entering a physical space – a place I mentally return to again and again. It’s my friend and I dancing in my teenage room, playing the same song on repeat for hours.”

The song captures both the joys of sharing moments through music with people you care about — and the nostalgic, bittersweet feeling when these relationships and moments fade away over time.
